Magic Cookie Bars
So easy, quick and simple to make. It involves layering just a few ingredients into a baking pan. Put it in the oven and thirty minutes later you’ve got a sweet and salty treat. These are a favorite around my house. This would be the perfect dessert to make ahead and take to a super bowl party on Sunday. Double the recipe and bake them in a 9 x 13 pan to feed a crowd.

Magic Cookie Bars
This is a recipe you can customize to your liking. Use whatever type of chips you enjoy. Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, butterscotch, white chocolate, peanut butter or any combination. You can also use your favorite nuts, just make sure they're chopped.
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 2 cups graham crackers crushed
- 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- 1 cup coconut flaked
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Melt butter in microwave
- In medium bowl, stir together graham crackers and brown sugar.
- Add melted butter, stir to combine
- Pour cracker mixture into 8 x 8 baking pan. Press down to form base for bars.
- Sprinkle a layer of chocolate chips, pecans and coconut over crust in that order.
- Drizzle sweetened condensed milk on top to completely cover. Sprinkle additional coconut flakes over top so they will get lightly brown and crunchy.
- Sprinkle kosher salt over top.
- Bake for 30 minutes in 350 degree oven. Watch closely so coconut doesn't burn.
- Remove from oven. Cool completely before slicing into bars.
Notes
I crush my own graham crackers by placing them in a zip top baggie and use the smooth side of my meat mallet and bang away.
